About
Hi! I’m Sherry.
I am a Registered Nurse, trained ADHD and Executive Function Coach and RN Psychotherapist. I offer a variety of ADHD management and treatment options independent of medication or in conjunction with your physician/NP prescribed medication.
With 20 years nursing experience, including working with college students, I am licensed as a RN to practice in Ontario. Under the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) I am authorized to practice and have trained to provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as a nurse. I am equally passionate about ADHD coaching as it continues to emerge as an effective and supportive management option.
As a fellow ADHD’er I bring lived experience, humour, compassion and a deep understanding to my practice.
I built ADHD Nurse to provide a personalized experience in ADHD care.
My Philosophy…
Is rooted in helping clients function to their optimal level, while building awareness, understanding, confidence and strategies to manage life’s challenges.
I hold the belief that labels do not define who a person is, but in the context of a diagnosis, they may provide understanding, validation and access to resources.
I wholeheartedly believe that a person with ADHD is not broken. There are physiological differences in an ADHD brain. These differences require both understanding and care.
I value continuous learning, and I embrace an evidence based practice.
I believe each person’s experience is unique and their own.
I practice from a holistic lens (whole person) and focus on self compassion, awareness, growth, strengths, optimization of health and environment, skill development, and value the client’s perspective and partnership.
I value an individual’s right to choose their care. Any treatment or management of symptoms is ultimately a personal decision.
I respect your decisions regarding medications, management or treatment approaches, including whether healthcare practitioners are the right fit for you or not.
I foster the development of autonomy in my practice. I believe in empowering individuals with respect to their ADHD, healthcare and in their daily lives.
